Twelve Georgia Tech students are making their mark at the State Capitol this legislative session as part of the Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP). Selected from a competitive pool of applicants statewide, these students are working alongside legislators, committees, and staffers, gaining firsthand experience in the legislative process. 

Each intern plays a vital role in supporting the work of legislators and committees, contributing to policy discussions, and gaining practical insights into state government operations. Below, meet the students and learn more about their interests and the contributions they are making this legislative session.

Ryan Bodell  Ryan Bodell 

  Hometown: Dunwoody, GA

  Major: Business Administration

  Expected Graduation: May 2026

  Placement: Chairman Sharon Cooper, Committee of Public and   Community Health

  Career Goal: I want to study law after graduation in hopes of becoming an attorney.

“The GLIP program has been an exciting experience so far. I have already gotten so much exposure to the policy and legislation that will soon affect our state. I think the best part of this program is the people that you meet. From representatives to lobbyists, and the administration, there are some really special people down at the Capitol. I am so thankful to be a part of it!”

Hannah Creedon  Hannah Creedon

  Hometown: Peachtree Corners, GA

  Major: Public Policy with a minor in Sustainable Cities

  Expected Graduation: May 2026

  Placement: House of Representatives, Office of the Speaker

  Career Goal: I am interested in environmental policy, so working for a   federal agency and eventually in corporate sustainability seems very exciting. However, I have an open mind and with every new experience I learn more opportunities available with my degree.

  Career Goal: I’d like to work in the non-profit or government sector, either  at the state or federal level, ideally doing policy analysis or environmental advocacy work.

  Career Goal: I hope to work somewhere within the National Security Agency.

  Career Goal: Attend law school and work as a corporate lawyer in a big law firm. IP law is a field of interest.

  Career Goal: Attend law school after graduation and work as an attorney.

"It has been a great experience working within Senator Anavitarte's office during the 2025 legislative session. I have had the opportunity to interact with and learn from many senators, lobbyists, and others within the political space. The fast-paced and high-intensity atmosphere in the State Capitol is also very motivating when doing work directly influencing constituents from areas around my hometown."

  Hometown: Willacoochee, GA

  Major: Aerospace Engineering 

  Expected Graduation: May 2028

  Placement: Senator Chuck Payne of the 54th District (Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security Committee) 

  Career Goal: Becoming an engineer for a major firm with an emphasis on service to the community and later developing a STEM program for students in my home community.

“I enjoy meeting new people and learning more about the legislative process. Being surrounded by policymakers and seeing firsthand how decisions are shaped has been truly inspiring. Every day offers opportunities to grow my understanding of public policy, collaborate with passionate individuals, and develop the skills that will help me become successful in a public service career.

In addition to the 2025 GLIP cohort, several other Georgia Tech students are actively contributing to roles in and around the Capitol this session. Together, they showcase the Institute’s commitment to fostering leadership and innovation beyond the classroom.

Open to all majors, the Georgia Legislative Internship Program offers participants a unique opportunity to contribute to state government while earning academic credit.
